Who are we?
Diagnosis and Protection of Electric Systems with Power Electronics (DIAPROLEC) is a pioneering Spanish research project led by interdisciplinary professionals specializing in electrical and electronic engineering. This initiative brings together experts from multiple R+D+i organizations, all dedicated to enhancing the safety and reliability of advanced electrical systems.

Universidad del País Vasco / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU)

The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) is a public university with three campuses across the Basque region. On its Bizkaia campus, within the Bilbao School of Engineering, the Electrical Systems Research Group (GISEL) serves as the coordinating body for the DIAPROLEC project.
GISEL is a consolidated research group specializing in the design and setup of tripping mechanisms and innovative protection systems for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) networks, as well as relay coordination for distribution systems and smart grids. Currently, their focus lies on diagnostic methods for advanced electric systems controlled by power converters.
The Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) is a leading institution in engineering and technology education, recognized for its strong track record in technological transfer.
From the School of Industrial Engineers, the Renewable Energy Research Group (GELEO) contributes its expertise to DIAPROLEC. GELEO specializes in the diagnosis and control of rotary and linear electrical machines and their respective drives, adding valuable knowledge to the project's objectives.
